Our inaugural selection is They Called Us Enemy\, a graphic memoir by George Takei\, Justin Eisinger and Steven R. Scott. It recounts the Mr. Takei’s childhood years spent in the Japanese American internment camps during World War II. AJSOCAL will host a resource table before and after the event. SUMMARY:OC Domestic Violence & Family Law Clinic (Every Thursday)
DESCRIPTION:The Survivor and Family Empowerment (”SAFE”) Project at AJSOCAL assists low-income and limited-English-speaking survivors of domestic violence with family law and immigration services\, including helping them obtain restraining orders\, child custody\, and support orders and to achieve legal status without the help of their abuser. \nSAFE will also be giving workshops regarding the restraining order process and family law.
