FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE, SEPTEMBER 30, 2025, LOS ANGELES, CA —Asian Americans Advancing Justice Southern California (AJSOCAL) announces the arrival of attorney Sean F. Bigley, Esq. to the civil rights and legal services organization as Director of Litigation. With more than a decade of experience in impact litigation, civil rights advocacy, and legal innovation, Sean will serve as a key member of AJSOCAL’s Strategy, Programs & Mission management team. He will lead the organization’s litigation strategy, overseeing a diverse docket of cases that advance the rights of immigrant and low-income Asian American communities across Los Angeles, Orange County, and beyond.
Sean says, “I am honored to be part of the AJSOCAL team. I have striven throughout my career to impact our community for the good and now, as we face repeated and expanding challenges to human decency, fairness and justice, I look forward spending my skills and efforts for the benefit of the AAPI community.”
Ronnette Ramos, Esq., Vice President of Programs, AJSOCAL, comments, “Sean’s approach blends legal rigor with a deep commitment to mentorship, innovation, and equity. His leadership will help ensure that AJSOCAL’s litigation remains bold, strategic, and deeply rooted in the lived experiences of the communities we serve.”
Sean began his legal career at the Legal Aid Foundation of Los Angeles (LAFLA), where he represented hundreds of tenants and veterans in unlawful detainer trials, housing hearings, and emergency housing matters. He later returned to LAFLA as a Senior Attorney in the Housing and Communities Workgroup, where he led the Skid Row Tenant Harassment Clinic, supervised a litigation team, and partnered with organizers and policymakers to strengthen tenant protections. His work under the Fair Employment and Housing Act and local ordinances demonstrates his strong grounding in community-centered civil rights litigation. In addition to his public interest experience, Sean has litigated complex commercial, employment, and whistleblower cases in state and federal courts, achieving multi-million-dollar judgments and equitable workplace reforms. Most recently, he served as a subject matter expert at LexisNexis, helping design ethical and practical AI tools for litigators, bridging his litigation expertise with emerging technology.
