GOFUNDME “MONTEREY PARK LUNAR NEW YEAR VICTIMS FUND” WILL CLOSE FRIDAY FEBRUARY 3rd
LOS ANGELES, CA — With over $1 million raised, the GOFUNDME “Monterey Park Lunar New Year Victims Fund’ will close on Friday, February 3, 2023 at 5pm PT. 100% of the contributions ranging in size from $5 to $100,000 will provide financial support to families who have experienced loss and those who have been physically harmed in the January 21, 2023 massacre in downtown Monterey Park, CA. After February 3 and for the near future, contributions will not be accepted at GOFUNDME but donations designated for the Monterey Park Lunar New Year Victims Fund can made directly to Asian Americans Advancing Justice Southern California by contacting info@ajsocal.org.
The fund has been led by a founding coalition of Asian American Pacific Islander community based organizations: Asian Americans Advancing Justice Southern California (AJSOCAL), AAPI Equity Alliance, Asian Pacific Community Fund, Chinatown Service Center, Gold House, Stand with Asian Americans, and Stop AAPI Hate.
The coalition now urges the general public to support the seven community members in Northern California who were murdered in a mass shooting in Half Moon Bay through the HALF MOON BAY VICTIMS FUND at https://www.gofundme.com/f/half-moon-bay-victims-fund
