Ronnette will play a pivotal role in steering our organization’s strategic vision, ensuring our mission thrives across Southern California. She will serve as a member of AJSOCAL’s Executive Leadership Team,
As a first-generation Filipino American woman, Ronnette brings nearly three decades of unwavering commitment to uplifting marginalized communities and amplifying underrepresented voices through legal services. Her lived experiences deeply inform her work, grounding her leadership in cultural humility, fierce advocacy, and transformative justice.
Ronnette has led groundbreaking efforts across the legal and public sectors. At the Los Angeles Superior Court, she launched the Pasadena Resource Center for Self-Represented Litigants, the first to serve the AAPI community with family workshops in Asian languages. At the Legal Aid Foundation of Los Angeles, as a managing attorney, she managed the county’s first Right to Counsel pilot in Los Angeles to provide legal services to low-income tenants who are facing eviction. At LAFLA, she managed nationally recognized and award-winning Medical Legal Partnerships (MLPs), including launching the first API-focused MLP in Southern California and the first-ever Black Health Initiative MLP at a Planned Parenthood clinic in Los Angeles, to address health disparities among Black women.
Most recently, Ronnette served as Deputy Director at LA County’s Justice, Care, and Opportunities Department, the first of its kind in the nation, dedicated to coordinating services and optimizing funding sources for people who are, have been, or at risk of being, caught up in our justice systems.
With her leadership, AJSOCAL is ready to elevate and expand its programs with vision, boldness, and a steadfast commitment to justice.
