Our CEO Is Showing Up And Speaking Out

Aug 6, 2026

Dahni Tsuboi, CEO of AJSOCAL, recently joined community partners, advocates, and policymakers in spaces dedicated to uplifting AAPI voices, advancing access to care, and investing in the next generation of API leaders.

Select Committee on Hate, Racism, & Xenophobia

Dahni spoke on behalf of AJSOCAL to the select committee at the CA State Capitol on the attacks we’ve seen on our communities and how California has an opportunity to lead, not only by responding to hate after it occurs but by preventing the conditions that allow hate to grow. We do that by protecting voice, preserving history, strengthening safety, expanding opportunity, and ensuring that every Californian knows they belong.

APICA’s 14th Annual Sushi Showdown

AJSOCAL was honored to attend Asian Pacific Islander Capitol Association (APICA)’s 14th Annual Sushi Showdown, which raised support for APICA’s Fellowship placing interns in API legislator offices at the State Capitol. The evening celebrated mentorship, representation, the advocates who have opened doors for API staff, like Maeley Tom, and future public servants.

AJSOCAL was especially proud to recognize former CAUSE intern Arali, who became an APICA intern and now works as a Senior Legislative Aide with Assemblymember Joaquin Arambula in the State Capitol. Her journey reflects what is possible when our communities invest in emerging leaders and continue building pathways for representation, advocacy, and lasting change.

Immigration & Healthcare Roundtable

Dahni also joined an Immigration & Healthcare Roundtable hosted by Assemblymember Mike Fong that featured Speaker Robert Rivas with community leaders, advocates, and policymakers to discuss issues impacting communities across California. She shared the experiences of AJSOCAL clients and helped center the voices of AAPIs navigating immigration and healthcare systems, reinforcing the need for solutions rooted in dignity, access, and justice.

California AAPI Legislative Caucus Community Town Hall

Accompanied by our Associate Director of Legislation, Ben Tran, and External Affairs Administrator, Brian See, Dahni attended the California AAPI Legislative Caucus Community Town Hall. The event was co-hosted by the Orange County Asian and Pacific Islander Community Alliance (OCAPICA) and the California Asian American & Pacific Islander Legislative Caucus, which is led by Assemblymember Mike Fong, in partnership with the City of Cerritos and the Cerritos City Council. The gathering created an important space for leaders from Orange County and the South Bay to share community priorities, challenges, and hopes for a more equitable future.

Together, AJSOCAL will continue advocating for a place where belonging is not determined by race, immigration status, language, religion, gender identity, sexual orientation, or wealth; where opportunity is accessible to all; and where the American dream remains worthy of the faith so many people continue to place in it.
