Our AAPI Immigrant Justice Webinar series Recap

May 11, 2026

Last week, we hosted our AAPI Immigrant Justice webinar series. It was a powerful week of learning, reflection, and community as we centered the Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) immigrant experience. Our subject matter experts discussed AAPI stories that are frequently overlooked or invisible in broader immigration conversations.

Throughout the week, we explored how marginalizing AAPI perspectives in areas like data, healthcare, communications, immigration policy, and survivor support perpetuates harmful myths and leaves critical needs unmet. As the fastest-growing racial and ethnic group in the United States, it’s clear that immigration is central to the AAPI story. Yet, without intentional focus, these realities are sidelined.

Now more than ever, it is critical to uplift AAPI immigrant voices and address the systemic barriers that shape their experiences. By challenging stereotypes like the model minority myth and advocating for inclusive policies, we can work together to ensure AAPI immigrants are no longer invisible.

Thank you again for being part of this important effort, but don’t let your engagement stop here. Below we have highlighted several upcoming ways you can tangibly support AJSOCAL’s work and engagement to protect AAPI immigrants. We look forward to continuing this work with you.
